Video Streaming – Viewer Engagement

April 2nd, 2015 Posted by News No Comment yet

Are you looking for a few tips to drive viewer engagement in your videos post event? Check these out.

Firstly it is important to decide if the video content you are capturing is not about the amount of view but rather the outcome or the preservation of the information.
Based on this, here are a few ideas that past clients have used to drive conversation and engagement around their video productions and their topics.

Gold Nuggets
This one is not about food but rather simple rewards. In this, case what we can do is embed a slide (or ask a question about a slide) at a random location in all or just one of your videos. You then advertise through newsletters or email that there is a reward hidden (or which videos to find the answers in) in the video presentation(s) and once a viewer finds it can direct them to send an email or visit a website to claim a discount /enter a competition etc. It is essentially a great motivator to get the viewer to watch the video stream and therefore learn about the topic.
Social Media
We encourage you to use the video streaming in your social media, if you have a Facebook, twitter or LinkedIn Groups use the video productions in them to start conversations or even in current conversations if they have relevance– you can easily drop the link in with a simple question about an idea a speaker put forward as a quick way of starting a conversation. By using free web services like http://goo.gl/ you can easily shorten the web link from the long length to a few characters thus enabling you to have a cleaner URl for placement on the social media sites and even use it in twitter with your tweets.

Newsletters & the Play from Button
Newsletters are a great tool to promote the video4 production, however the webcast and YouTube platform has a handy little feature that helps you to really take conversations to the next level. The Play from Link is a great tool if you want to take a viewer straight to a particular location in the video, i.e say there is a really hot topic going around and one of your speakers has spoken about a great solution to it, all you need to do is write a quick blurb about it and then ask the reader of the newsletter to click on the link to view what he has to say about it, this then takes them straight to the hot topic and if they are keen they will then watch the remainder of the presentation.
As well as newsletters you can use this feature as part of your social media engagement if you need to reinforce a point or expand a conversation.

Polls (Webcasting only)
This is a great feature that we can turn on and set up where you can ask question(s) and let the viewer select from a Multiple choice answers – you can use this feature on its own or as part of social media conversation – I.e. ask them to watch a section of the video (using the play from feature) and then get them to take the poll on the player – the results can then be used for your information gathering or as part of the conversation on social media.
Constant Communication
With the amount of information on the web and the fact that we all seem to be busy people in our daily lives it is imperative that you firstly strike while the iron is hot and get the information into your audiences hands quickly, but it is also important that you use follow up techniques and reminders in the weeks and months to come. Promote your videos (and more importantly the benefit of watching them) via any websites / email footer / social media / newsletter or hard print medium you have available. If your potential audience does not know that the content is there they will not go looking for it and thus will not get to take up the content and understand the message.

Other Ideas include
 Use the video production in future presentations
 Build them into Blogs on your or other websites
 Feature them prominently on your landing page of your site
 If you have engaged a sponsor to support your videos get them to send it out to their database
 Use QR codes to make it easy for mobile devices to get to the content from print media
 Advertise the content before it is released to your delegates in pre-conference releases and during the event
 Use it in a training course
Most importantly people watch a video to get some sort of benefit or meet a need. Make sure you promote the reason to watch not just the fact that it is available to watch.

Capture your next conference or event

January 5th, 2015 Posted by News No Comment yet

Have you been looking for a unique way to capture your next conference or event so the information is not lost or so that you could deliver it to a wider audience faster and more effectively that ever before.

Well Video Streaming may just be your Answer…..

It can be delivered live or on demand and is the perfect video production for your conference, be it on the Gold Coast Brisbane, Sydney or Beyond.

So What are some features

  • Its fast, we can stream live or if the internet has a good speed upload and have it ready within an hour or so after it finishes
  • It incorporates the presenters videos and slides, no more trying to guess what the speaker is talking about or imagine that graph in your head.
  • The final video can incorporate all your branding and shout outs to your sponsors, giving them the ultimate long lasting benefit to sponsor your event.

So how can you showcase the benefit of this style of video production and justify the spend?

  • Well first off you might be surprised that the actual cost of the production is significantly small that what you have thought and what you might be used to. This is mainly because we are loosing the majority of the edit time required to sync the slides and video to the presenter, all this is done live, thus allowing us to deliver fast
  • With many events the cost of 2 – 3 Registrants would cover the cost of the video
  • What about finding a sponsor for the video production, they will get the added value of being able to run pre or post rolls over the video and have their branding in viewers faces throughout the video viewing time.
  • Know you will have a large viewer base… why not enable YouTube ad revenue … get enough views and you get some or all of your investment back(be aware though a lot of views will be required to see a good return)
  • An easier idea is to just build the cost into registrations.it could be an extra 10 – 50 dollars per registrant but they will be getting a huge added value as they will be able to quickly and easily refer to the speeches to review any thing they missed or wanted clarification on

But More importantly what dies it look like

Check out one we did for MLA for their annual AGM last month, and if you are keen to find out more about this style of video production or any other video production for your company then give us a call on 0405351983

Christmas In July for December

June 19th, 2014 Posted by News No Comment yet

At Blue Shadow Group we love “Christmas in July” (more events, more fun, more happiness!) but we realise that the smart July activity is to make sure the official December events are booked, organised and locked in.

Last minute event planning means you don’t get first choice of venue or dates for your Christmas party or December event.  That usually mean stress and disappointment.

At BSG we organise and supply Christmas parties from 50 to 1000 people with every thing they need from the events side (AV, Entertainment, Theming, event management, venue recommendations etc etc).  We would love to put a package together for your event.

Starting your planning is as simple as replying to this email so we look forward to hearing from you.

Once again if you are looking for theming inspiration, don’t forget to have a look at our special gallery of events.
